July 2016 Angela Anderson Port Clyde, ME Bonita Springs, FL 207 975-6007 Angela Anderson is a classically trained figurative artist with a BFA in Fine Arts, from UNH. She works on series of paintings inspired by people, places, films, history, in studios in Florida and Port Clyde. Upcoming: Various Degrees of Dress and Undress, and exhibition with DiTa at Granite Gallery, Tenants Harbor Aug. 4-10. “A Year of Romance” is being shown Summer 2016 in Port Clyde and Tenants Harbor. Angela was inspired by the local response at her St. George Open Studio in October 2015 to create new works in a similar manner to those previously done in this style. Originally made after a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the collection from The Hermitage. Earlier series included Circus based on her time with The Flying Wallendas and a study of World War 1, pilots and historically informed images. Having had exhibited in NYC and Europe, with a solo exhibition in Munich, Germany. Angela's work was included in Martin Kippenbergers shows at Museum of Modern Art Paris, Cassel, Germany, Museum Beuyman’s von Beuningen, in Rotterdam Holland, and Metro Pictures Gallery, NY, NY. Her video Love, Boys and Food was shown at the New Museum in New York City, and the Queens Museum, Queens, NY. A resident of NY, NY, she worked for artist Philip Pearlstein as a model, while making her own work and exhibiting there. She now shows in Maine, New Hampshire and Florida, independently. Member of Center of Maine Contemporary Art, Naples Art Association, The Art Center of Bonita Springs, Arts Council of Southwest Florida.
